The heat and EMS functions feel soothing, but what really surprised me was the traction feature. It genuinely pulls in a way that reminds me of a professional massage.

I tend to fall asleep using it. When I kept it on warmth mode, it might have stung a bit—maybe it got a bit too hot—but it's so comfortable that I just dozed off.

This device is great! I use it for 15 minutes and then stretch my neck, and I’m able to get some releases.

FAQs

Can I use this if I have pre-existing medical condition?

Cervical traction is considered a physical therapy treatment; therefore, we strongly recommend that you consult a doctor before using it if you're concerned.

Note: Please start with a lower intensity and a shorter usage duration.

Can I use this device on the bed or sofa?

For optimal traction performance, we recommend using the MEDI Neck on a flat, hard surface, such as tile, wooden or carpeted floor.

Can I sleep with this neck care device on?

We would strongly advise against using this cervical traction device while sleeping. Please note that MEDI NECK has a 15-min auto off timer, which also helps prevent discomfort due to prolonged usage.

Does this device help with posture correction?

Yes, by regularly stretching and relaxing tight neck muscles, this cervical traction device can help improve posture over time.

When should I not use cervical traction treatment?

1. Diagnosed or Suspected Cervical Spine Conditions:
If you have diagnosed or suspected conditions like cervical spine tumors, tuberculosis, or infections, it's advised to avoid traction.

2. Severe Disc Problems or Spinal Issues:
If you have a central cervical disc herniation with symptoms like pain, numbness, or dysfunction in both your arms or legs, or issues with bowel and bladder control, cervical traction should be avoided. Patients with cervical myelopathy (spinal cord compression) or severe spinal stenosis should also avoid cervical traction.

3. Cervical Disc Herniation with Spinal Slippage (Spondylolisthesis):
If your cervical spine has vertebrae that are displaced (spondylolisthesis), traction could make things worse, so it should be avoided.

4. Poor Overall Health or Serious Health Conditions:
If you're dealing with serious respiratory, circulatory, or other health issues, cervical traction might not be safe for you. Always consult your doctor to make sure traction is appropriate for your health condition.

5. Osteoporosis, High Blood Pressure, or Heart Problems:
People with significant osteoporosis (bone thinning), high blood pressure, or heart disease should avoid cervical traction. Traction can cause fractures in osteoporotic bones or worsen heart and blood pressure issues.

6. Increased Neck Pain After Treatment:
If you notice your symptoms worsen or you experience intense pain after using traction, stop immediately and consult with your doctor.

7. Pregnancy, Children, or Cancer/Tumor Patients:
Pregnant women, children, and patients with cancer or tumors should avoid cervical traction.

What should I do if I can barely feel the EMS stimulation?

The electrical signals are transmitted through water or other moisture. Before use, please moisten the area of your neck where the EMS/heat pads will be in contact with water.

Why do I feel pain in my neck after using?

1. Overusing the neck traction device can strain the muscles and ligaments, resulting in post-traction pain. In this case, we recommend reducing the traction time.

2. Discomfort can also be caused by excessive friction on the skin. If pain occurs, we recommend shortening the usage time.

3. Additionally, applying heat to the treatment area before and after use to promote blood circulation can help reduce discomfort.

How long does it take to feel relief?

Some users feel relief after the first few sessions, while others may require consistent use for several days to notice improvement. Results vary depending on the individual's condition and the severity of the neck pain.

Is it safe to use the neck traction device every day?

Yes, the EMS neck traction device is safe for daily use.

Is it normal to feel a mild dizziness or nausea when using the device?

If you're not diagnosed with CSM (Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy),a mild dizziness or nausea during your first use of MEDI NECK is a normal reaction to neck traction.

Is there an English version of the manual for MEDI NECK?

Yes, if you only receive a Japanese version of the manual, please find the English version here: MEDI NECK English manual.

I tend to fall asleep using it.

When I kept it on warmth mode, it might have stung a bit—maybe it got a bit too hot—but it's so comfortable that I just dozed off. It even helps with my posture. I wish I could use it on other sore areas too (though sadly, I can’t). Since you’re supposed to use it twice a day, I do it morning and night. Seriously, it feels amazing.

I underestimated the impact this device could have due to its light weight, but I’ve been struggling with chronic shoulder and neck tension for years. I’ve tried numerous EMS devices and heating pads that hook onto the neck, but most haven’t been very effective, and I often end up putting them away. This one, however, is different: it’s designed to lie down and rest your head on, which allows you to relax your muscles completely—and that alone makes a big difference.
The heat and EMS functions feel soothing, but what really surprised me was the traction feature. It genuinely pulls in a way that reminds me of a professional massage. It’s a movement that’s hard to replicate while standing, so I think this could be highly effective.
I tried it on both a soft bed and on the floor. On the bed, my body sank in too much, which made it difficult to get the right position. A firm surface like the floor, with a yoga mat or similar padding, seems ideal for stability. Also, I noticed a big difference in the EMS intensity before and after a bath—it felt much stronger after bathing, which seemed to increase its effectiveness. Overall, I feel incredibly refreshed and really like it.

Interesting!

This is probably the most interesting cervical traction unit I've ever used and I've used quite a few styles. The TENS is a great touch, very relaxing. Lots of versatility in the settings and functions. Easy to set up, slightly difficult to store compared to other options, but that's the worst of it, so I'd say it's a pretty great option.

Helpful for "tech neck" and poor sleeping position aches

I ordered this because I spend a lot of time on the computer and also end up sleeping in poor positions for my neck, despite my best efforts. I have neck issues and also problems with my back between my shoulder blades. This device is a bit unusual compared to other things I have tried, but is pretty effective for my neck issue. The device seems to be nicely made, with quality manufacturing (fit and finish were very nice and the plastic material is sturdy) and everything worked as it should out of the box. It seems sturdy and substantial. The remote cable seems like it is made for commercial use - it is thick and solid and not some thin little wire. It won't be easy to pinch or kink. The box is ideal for gift-giving and is handy for storage (but is large) - the packaging is high-quality.For me, I found the heating and EMS functions suited me the best, although the traction function was helpful as well. I started on low and gradually ramped up the intensity over several sessions, as noted in the instructions. The remote was easy for me to use, with buttons I could readily push and an easy-to-read backlit dial. The only thing that is a little difficult for me is actually using the device, as it requires a firmer support like a carpeted floor, massage table, or yoga mat on a hard floor for the traction inflator to work against, which isn't the most comfortable for me to lie on. I ended up putting it on my carpeted bedroom floor with a plastic cutting board under it for that support, and it worked okay. It's a bit awkward to store, as the box is large, and if not stored in the box, the shape and size of it doesn't easily fit in my linen closet or armoire, but I just put it on top of the towels and it does okay. The benefit to my neck is worth the effort to deal with the device. For my use, it was most helpful for my neck and not so much for down through my shoulders. It is reasonably comfortable for me to use and cradles my head nicely. The levels of heat and EMS vary from very light to almost more than I can stand, so the range would likely work for anyone. The traction works smoothly and well and isn't too loud, but it is right under your head, so it seems a bit amplified. After several sessions on medium intensity using heat and EMS, my neck felt much better. I think the traction will take me a bit more to get used to, but seems helpful as well.Overall, I am glad I ordered it, but I am not sure I see $250 value out of it.
